mae’s nursery tour!

June 13, 2014 | In: little decor

I thought it’d be fun to share a few photos of Mae’s nursery today! I’ve been a little hesitant about sharing her nursery because I don’t considered it finished. It’s always a work in progress and I have a few upcoming projects planned for it. But I figured I may as well post it now and I can share updates as I get to them!

I wouldn’t say that Mae’s room has any theme – I just buy what I like! I love color in children’s rooms and I wanted her room to feel very kid-friendly & playful.

I painted the blue strip behind Mae’s bookshelves to add a bit of color to this wall. It was the easiest project & I love the way it turned out! But I do have a confession, the IKEA frame ledges as book shelves kind of drive my nuts. Mae’s books are always falling off of them. If I could do it again I’d probably try these instead.
The woman in the photograph is my beautiful Grandma Louise. Mae’s middle name is Louise, after her great-grandma.

I think this Dash & Albert throw is a must for every nursery! It’s huge and I’ve spent many nights snuggled up in it with Mae. It’s machine washable, super cozy, & comes in lots of prints.

Did you know that Walmart has the BEST selection of affordable modern cribs? They sure do! We just love ours! The darling pink & yellow quilt was made by one of my childhood friends for Mae. It’s one of my favorite items in her room.

The circus growth chart was sent to us from Petite Lemon, one of my favorite children’s brands. It’s a thick canvas with metal grommets and can be easily hung using 3M Command Hooks, making it super easy to move from one space to another.

The material for Mae’s closet was purchased from this Etsy shop and it much less busy looking in person! 🙂

We inherited the midcentury dresser from Ryan’s grandma who was the original owner. The diaper organizer is a kitchen cart from IKEA and works perfectly for this purpose!

This is adorable! I love the fun colors, and the aqua wall stripe is so great. What a genius idea to easily spice things up a bit! Also love how the whole room has an eclectic little girl vibe but still feels cohesive and like a room grownups would also want to hang out in (a must for nurseries, in my book!).

Oh I LOVE it! I don’t care for nurseries that have too heavy of a theme. I think this has much more of a sense of a collection of beautiful things that have been curated over time and go together but in a much more interesting way. And it’s adorable how you incorporated your grandmother’s picture. What a meaningful piece.

You are so sweet! I also prefer the non-themed nurseries, especially since I can always be adding to them & changing things up.

I love how unique Mae’s room in; you did a wonderful job! I am particularly loving the polka dot wall & fawn clock. So sweet. 🙂 I have been thinking about adding some decals to one of Liam’s playroom walls….now I may just have to do it!

You should do it! I absolutely love the decals. So inexpensive, relatively easy to put up, and they completely change a space!

I don’t see a source for the stripped rug. Such a fun addition! Will you share where you found it?

Hi! I bought her rug at Crate & Barrel. I just did a search of their website and I didn’t see it, but they have similar rugs in different colors. 🙂

Hi! What size did you order in the tutu? I’ve been looking for something to hang on the wall in baby’s nursery and this is perfect! Unfortunately they’re almost sold out:(

hi! I really love the floral fabric that you used for Mae’s closet! Do you by any chance know the name of e fabric? I searched the Etsy shop and can’t seem to find it. I’d love to use it in my baby girls nursery 🙂

I just looked it up through my purchases on Etsy. It’s called “Garden Party Tango” – here’s a listing by another shop: http://etsy.me/1JIo7wE

Great room – what is the wall color and manufacturer, please? I’m struggling and my room is yellow right now but this looks like it’s a nice off white that it’s stark white yet the different colors all pop nicely.
