little shop // briar handmade

August 25, 2014 | In: handmade, little style, small shop

Babies in bonnets. One of my very favorite things in life. So I’m thrilled to be featuring Briar Handmade, a handmade shop that carries swoon-worthy bonnets for babies & children.

Briar Handmade is run by Portland mama of two Rachel Goode. Rachel started making bonnets for her daughter back when she was an infant because she was having a hard time finding simple bonnets without frills & floppy brims. After receiving lots of compliments on her creations, she decided she should open an online shop to make them available to other mamas too. And so in May (yes, just three months ago!) she opened up Briar Handmade. It’s been so fun to see how quickly this shop has grown!

Briar Handmade bonnets are a modern take on a classic style. The fabrics and prints are beautiful, many bonnets featuring chambray or Liberty of London fabrics (two of my favorites!). All of the bonnets are professionally surged for durability and lined in 100% Pima cotton. (They can also be upgraded to an organic sherpa lining for the cooler months by adding this to any purchase).

Rachel sent Mae one of the wine & chambray bonnets from her new fall collection and I am obsessed! Beyond being absolutely adorable on her, it also keeps her ears and head warm in the evening. And because the fabric is so soft, Mae happily keeps her bonnet on too. These bonnets are truly heirloom-quality pieces and the classic style make them perfect for passing on from child to child.

Now through Wednesday, Rachel is providing a 15% discount to her shop with code “thriftylittles15” at checkout. Head on over and check out her new fall prints – they’re amazing!
For shop updates & lots of outfit inspiration, follow along with Briar Handmade on Instagram here. Her Instagram feeds is one of my favorites!
xoxo.

What a doll – she looks just like you! And thanks so much for your blog. It’s so nice not to have to shop around for deals, but I’m sure it’s a lot of work to compile it all. So thank you!!
