little shop // snap bibs

September 23, 2014 | In: handmade, small shop

I’ve been on the lookout for the perfect bib for Mae ever since she started solids. One that was easy to clean, held up to being washed, couldn’t easily be ripped off, and most importantly protected her from getting covered in food. Well guess what mamas? I’ve found it.
Meet Snap Bibs.
Snap Bibs

Snap Bibs are bibs made from a thick, sturdy vinyl that effectively keeps food off your little one. They have a heavy duty metal snap that makes it so the bib can’t easily be pulled off. They’re also ridiculously easy to clean with soapy water or a damp cloth and can even be washed in the washing machine if needed! Our last set of bibs (which were not cheap) had to be thrown away because they didn’t stand up to being washed in the sink and immediately looked worn and started cracking. Ick.
I was a little bit worried about how successful these bibs would be at keeping Mae clean since they don’t have a pocket, but now I realize pockets on bibs aren’t really necessary (and no fun to clean!). Snap Bibs are large enough that they completely cover your baby to protect them from spills, plus food and liquid cling to the bib a bit so they don’t just roll right off and onto your little one. On top of all of this, snap bibs are comfy to wear and are easy to roll up and pack in the diaper bag for meals on the go. I can’t tell you enough how much I love this product. I only wish found it sooner in my quest for the best bib. They truly are superb.

Katie Lewis is the CEO and mama-of-two behind Snap Bibs, which is run out of her home in Columbus, Ohio. She created her first bibs back in 2010 when she started feeding her daughter solids and became unsatisfied with the fabric bibs with velcro closures she found at the store. She thought she could make something that better fit her and her daughter’s needs and she did just that! Snap Bibs have gone through a few different designs since then, but of course the current design is Katie’s favorite.

As if making amazing bibs wasn’t enough, Katie just released placemats made from the same material as the bibs. I’ll definitely be snagging a few of these since Mae has decided she’ll only sit in her high chair about half of the time now.

Katie has been very generous to offer us a 20% discount to her shop now through September 27th with code “thriftylittles20.” I’d highly recommend ordering a few since I know you’ll immediately be back for more once you get your hands on one! Trust me on this. 😉
