meet captain toto, the adventurous world traveler (+ a coupon code!)

June 12, 2015 | In: kids, small shop, toys & books

One thing that’s very important to us as parents is to teach Mae about the world we live in and expose her to the many different cultures. While it’s not possible for us to travel much at this point, I’m always on the lookout for educational activities that show her there is a big fascinating world outside of our home in Seattle. While I know this concept is hard for her to grasp right now, we are starting with age-appropriate activities now that will hopefully instill in her a natural curiosity.

Captain Toto Mail Delivery

A few months ago I discovered Captain Toto, an adventurous traveler who explores new extraordinary regions in the world each month and shares his discoveries with his friends by snail mail. Each month he sends a letter with fascinating facts about a new city and 3 sheets of fun, colorful stickers. This seemed like the perfect way to teach Mae about different cities, and what kid doesn’t go nuts when they receive their very own snail mail!

Mae was so excited to receive her first package all about France and I had fun reading her the letter and helping her complete the activities (and decorate the front of her dress with stickers, of course)! The illustrations are so darling, and the quality of the stickers is superb – they’re thick and Mae had no problem removing them without ripping them. We loved having a different, educational activity to complete together.

You can subscribe for your own child to learn all about Captain Toto’s monthly adventures here. It costs just $7.90 per month but you can save 50% off your first month with code START (and you can cancel anytime). You can also purchase a 3-month subscription, which would make such a fun gift for kids!

*Thank you to Captain Toto for sending us a letter to review! Please know that all opinions are my own.
