I’ve always loved companies that help me do some good while shopping, which is why FEED + TOMS Shoes have been long-time favorites of mine. And now I’ve found another “one for one” company that I’m pretty excited to share with you guys. Meet cuddle + kind, a company that creates oh-so-adorable handmade knit dolls while fighting child hunger.
cuddle + kind is a Canadian-based brand started by husband-and-wife duo Derek and Jennifer Woodgate. While watching a documentary on child hunger they decided they wanted to do something to benefit children around the world, which led to the creation of their company. With each doll purchased, ten meals are donated to children in need through their giving partners, the World Food Program USA and Children’s Hunger Fund.
Each cuddle + kind doll is handmade in Peru by artisans who are provided with sustainable, fair trade income. They are the highest quality, made from 100% premium cotton yarn and stuffed with hypoallergenic polyester filling. You can choose from one of nine dolls, including mermaids, reindeers, bunny rabbits, cats, or a penguin. Each of which comes with a unique name, birthdate, & story.
So how do you get your hands on one of these darling dolls? Head on over to cuddle + kind’s campaign page over on the crowdfunding engine indiegogo, where you can pre-order a doll at a special price and help this company launch! The more dolls you order, the better the deal! Dolls are expected to ship in November, just in time for the holidays.
Be sure to check out cuddle + kind’s website to find out more about this company’s background & mission. You can follow cuddle + kind for updates & inspiration on Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest. From now until October 16th, they will give one meal for every new follower on each social media platform. How do you say no to that?
